Privacy Policy

In plain language: we designed VIONIZ so it cannot see your files, your paths, or your life. Here's the exact policy that holds us to it.

Last updated July 31, 2026

1. Overview

VIONIZ ("we", "us") makes security software. This policy describes what information VIONIZ collects, what it never collects, and the choices you have. The short version: detection happens on your device, and anything shared is anonymous and hash-only by default-opt-in.

2. What we collect

If you enable Crowd shield (recommended, but entirely your choice), we may receive the following when your device encounters a new or suspicious file:

DataPurpose
File hash (SHA-256)Identify the exact file anonymously; match against known-good/known-bad lists.
Verdict & threat familyLearn which detections are real and how to classify new threats.
Detection engine & risk scoreMeasure which engine layers work and tune accuracy.
File type & extensionUnderstand which file kinds are targeted. Never a path.
Anonymous install IDRate-limit submissions and detect abuse — not to identify you.

All of the above travels encrypted (TLS). This data is aggregated and is the basis for our threat report and collective database.

3. What we never collect

  • File contents or documents — we never upload your files.
  • File paths or folder names — a hash has no location attached.
  • Browsing history, keystrokes, or search — never.
  • Location, contacts, identity or name — never.
  • Anything for advertising — we show no ads and sell nothing.

4. Crowd shield

Crowd shield is the anonymous collective database. Submissions are consensus-checked: a fingerprint only enters the database after being independently reported by more than one device, protecting against false or malicious flags. You remain fully protected whether Crowd shield is on or off — it never gates any detection feature.

6. Retention

Aggregated statistics are kept for as long as we operate the service. Individual telemetry events are retained up to 12 months, after which they are either anonymized into aggregate counts or deleted. You can request deletion of your install ID's data at any time via the contact details below.

7. Security

All data in transit is TLS-encrypted. Server-side, telemetry is stored with access controls, audited access, and least-privilege principles. Hashes and metadata are treated as sensitive data — the same discipline we apply to customer systems.

8. Third parties

We do not share personal data with any third party. We do not use third-party advertising, trackers, or analytics on the website beyond basic privacy-respecting page metrics. We use a web font (Google Fonts) which does not require cookies. No data is sold — ever.

9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we collect effectively nothing personal, most formal rights are already satisfied by design. If you are in the EU, UK, or California and believe we hold any data related to you, contact us and we will provide, correct, or delete it within 30 days. We will never ask for more information than necessary.

10. Contact
